Proudly Serving South Dakota and Surrounding Areas

How We Do It

THE LOGIC BEHIND YOUR SYSTEM

Tiling might look simple, and while it can be, simple is not always best. Getting it right takes more than just laying pipe. At the start of every project, we evaluate key aspects of your land: soil type, ideal tile depth and spacing, drainage coefficient, and the correct tile size for long-term performance. With a system designed around your unique conditions, you’ll unlock the full potential of your fields—boosting both productivity and profitability for years to come.

Pipe Size Matters

Don’t undersize your future! Installing the correct size tile for your project is extremely important and planning is key. Considerations of upstream and downstream impact ensures your system will operate at optimum capacity. With our state-of-the-art equipment, we can plow up to 24” dual wall pipe and are capable of installing larger mains as necessary.  You will appreciate the quality and efficiency of your system, and we will exceed your expectations.

Our Design Philosophy: Built on Science. Customized for Land.

Every field is different — and every drainage system we design starts with a deep understanding of your unique terrain, soil type, topography, and crop goals. Here’s how we ensure optimal DWM results:

1. Comprehensive Soil & Site Analysis

We begin by building a complete profile of your land —identifying trouble areas, drowned out, and potential compaction areas by using satellite imagery, LiDAR data, yield data and onsite collection of information.

2. System Optimization for DWM

Drainage isn’t just about removing excess water — it’s about managing it. Our team designs systems that allow for variable water table control throughout the season, enhancing both drainage in wet conditions and water retention during for drier times of the growing season. This ensures stronger root development and nutrient access when it matters most.

  • Controlled Drainage Structures: We install edge of field control boxes and inline watergates that allow you to hold water back when needed — extending water availability and reducing nitrate loss.
  • Subsurface Irrigation Ready: Many of our DWM systems are pre-configured for future upgrades like subirrigation, allowing you to turn your drainage network into a water-saving asset.

3. PRoven Tile Spacing & Pipe Sizing

Using industry-best modeling software and agronomic expertise, we determine optimal tile depth, spacing, and sizing. Our designs balance cost-efficiency with peak performance — ensuring consistent water movement and reduced risk of erosion or oversaturation.
